may street cafe

so this was NOT a "chips & hot sauce on the table while you wait for your food" kind of place.
and we weren't even disappointed.
we learned that it's latin fusion ( ohh, i think that's what it was called).
i took my camera but quickly realized i wouldn't be using it.
the place was so small, yet private.
you felt like you were having dinner with everyone there in a really good kind of way.
not a "that man/lady next to us is ruining my meal with his/her loud mouth. i think he/she should have to buy my dinner."
definitely not that kind of way.
but the camera/flash just seemed intrusive and frankly, quite amateur. so i kept it to one iphone picture of dessert. see below.
(side note...first picture i took without the flash and it came out too dark. so i said "oh, c'mon i'll use the flash. no one is looking." and then picture - FLASH "and now everyone's looking" darn.)
so let's get right to it...

our meal.

together for appetizer
quesadillas
french double cream brie and winter pears
with may st cafe chipotle sauce
(out-of-this-world good)

haley
lechon asado
slow cooked oven roasted pork
marinated with mojo criollo puerto rican spices
veggies, black beans, and rice
(fabulous)

austin
cinnamon chipotle chicken fajitas
yellow squash, zucchini, portabello mushrooms, chipotle cream sauce
rice and black beans
(outstanding)

together for dessert
white chocolate flan
(unbelievable)

they served the flan with these tiny forks. and you were so glad they did because you wanted it to last forever. a big bite would have just been wasteful.
at the end of the meal we were already discussing what we would order next time we had something to celebrate and returned to may street cafe.

please come visit and give us a reason to go back to may street cafe!
