blizzard update

These first pictures are from last night around 10:30. We moved the grill inside for fear it would go overboard. The wind was having it's way with the grill. Getting it inside the house in the middle of a blizzard was AWFUL. Snow was being blown all over the living room. That video will not be posted on the blog. It's being edited for language.

Last night was just bizarre. Thunder snow is unreal. And the wind was fierce.
Our windows were shaking. But we have so little to complain about.
We never lost power, we had heat, food, water, EVERYTHING we needed.
People were stranded in their cars last night and we heard a report of one fatality.
Please pray for those much worse affected than us. And we thank God for his provisions and care over us.

It's the morning of Blizzard 2011 (so the news has named it) and she is still going at it. Here's a little eaves dropping from this morning....
"Why don't weather people name blizzards like they name hurricanes? This one definitely needs a name. Let's come up with a name." - Haley
"Hurricane Ditka." - Austin
"Hmm.....well we know we can't name it Hurricane Cutler."- Haley
"Yea, because it would have quit last night at 9."- Austin
(Must follow Chicago Bears football to get the joke). :)

People trying to catch the bus in the middle of the street.

morning view from the living room. the grill still with us inside.
And we're back to solid white 10 minutes later.

Al Roker is in Chicago. Just told us we have 19.5 inches of snow. And it's still SNOWING.

So what shall we name this blizzard???

Oh my gosh, you are so funny! I did my version of the Austin laugh with the line about the video being edited for language. I'm still smiling just thinking about it. Glad you are safe and sound.
