Washington, D.C.

Sunday, May 23, 2010
We left Quantico, Virginia and headed for D.C. We walked...and we walked....and we walked. The first estimates were 5 miles and by the end of the week, it was 8 miles. From the White House to Virginia is a long way!

We had lunch at Old Ebbitt Grill to celebrate my 26th birthday!

How cool is this picture? It's not really a bald eagle, but we are certainly going to pretend that it is!

Lincoln Memorial.

Portions of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address are inscribed on the wall. As far as I know, Lincoln was his own speech writer.

We ended our day at Arlington National Cemetery and witnessed the changing of the guard.
What an incredible day that served as a reminder to us of all that has been sacrificed for our freedom.
