changes

a lot has changed with the chicago puryears.
some big changes. some small changes.
let's start small.

austin now drinks coffee. he loves coffee. we make it every morning.

a new camera is in store for us. we are researching and hoping to make the purchase soon. can't wait to fill the blog with our attempts at good photography.

we have started going to a new church and we love it. we joined a small group and we love the people in our small group. i made a dorothy winfield pound cake for our first meeting and it was enjoyed by all. i loved bringing a part of our lives and sharing with people here.

we have some new friends we love. brett and jordan from oklahoma city. they live one block from us and go to church with us. austin met brett on one of his last assignments with kpmg. so thankful for that meeting. they have a latte machine and we go over for lattes and cards/endless hours of chatting. we are going over there tonight. the four of us are having Easter lunch together on sunday. can't wait for that.

the biggest change of all has been austin's new job with excelon corporation inside "the loop" here in chicago. (not many people say "downtown"- instead it's "inside the loop" which is not how we think of loops in texas....those giant roadways that go around a city for miles. this is a loop formed by trains and to us, it's a small loop. but it's the "downtown" equivalent here in chicago).
we have prayed, and prayed for this. and the Lord has blessed austin with a new job that he is loving, a shorter commute, good coworkers, and an increase in pay. the Lord is good.

not much has changed with me. just wrapping up my first year of optometry school, which is so hard to believe. i have another one of those "pretend to be an eye doctor in front of a real eye doctor" practicals coming up. i would covet your prayers. i try to tap in to my one-act play past and leave the nervous, why am i doing this, haley at the door. and instead become a confident, seasoned, professional doctor. we will see how it goes this time. ;)
